Immediate Release, Henderson, KY, July 19th– Henderson Senior Center, also known as, The Gathering Place is proud to announce that Saturday night dances will be returning on August 14th. “We have been waiting to bring back the dances, until we felt comfortable with the opening of the daily operations of the senior center, and we are there, so we can’t wait for people to come back with their dancing shoes,” stated Bill Rhodes, Henderson Senior Center Director.
Dances will start back in August, but there are some changes to be aware of before you come. Our first dance will be on Saturday August 14th, with one of the favorite performers amongst our attendees, Kelly Turley. After Kelly, we will welcome back the Southern Bullets, on Saturday, August 28th. The doors will open at 5 p.m. and dancing starts at 6 p.m.
Due to the rise in prices over the last year for several materials, like other businesses, we have had to implement an extensive cleaning and sanitizing prices to keep our guests and members safe. The dance fee has been increased to $9 per person to ensure that the dances can be sustained, and safety remains a top priority for all.
A part of the $9 per person fee, The Gathering Place will provide coffee, tea, water and fresh hot popcorn. However, you are encouraged to bring your own snacks and nonalcoholic beverages of choice.
We look forward to dances returning and seeing our dancers enjoy their favorite line dance, two step or electric boogie again! Please call if you should have any questions to the senior center at (270) 827-2948.
